Another political issue!!

I was reluctant to comment then after a few Malaysians felt heavy about the issue, I decided to say something!

I have made friends with many mostly Malays and Chinese. I have Indian friends too. We all mix well and communicate freely. Our personal opinions remain a personal opinion. This was how it was for me since primary till now. We are Malaysians, but to see a glimpse of truth to that we must believe that race and religion is of personal issue. Out in the field, we are of the mother earth Malaysia. Do we need to be reminded, that from history till now, the best results are always obtain when all of us work together as Malaysians.

With all that, it saddens me to hear of such statements:

Budaya korporat Takaful Malaysia yang bersendikan Syariat tidak mengizinkan ianya berlaku sekalipun untuk pelanggan yang beragama hindu atau agama lain yang mana ucap selamat tadi membabitkan tuhan mereka.

Bagi mereka yang telah terlanjur mengucap selamat kepada penganut hindu ……maka hendaklah segera bertaubat dan tidak mengulanginya lagi pada masa-masa akan datang.

This I think was totally uncalled for and inhuman from somebody with extremely narrow perspective of their own religion. But when this happens nobody will dare comment and again it will take another high ranking religious official or the PM himself to clarify the issue.

If greetings are equal to practising the religion then for me the mind and heart is of a weak one as something as trivial as greetings can make one sway his faith. I may have interpreted it wrongly but the root question is why such a remark, why?

A true story from the Japanese Embassy in US

Prime Minister Mori was given some basic English conversation training before he visits Washington and meets with President Bill Clinton.

The instructor told Mori:
” Prime Minister, when you shake hand with President Clinton, please say ‘how are you’.

Then Mr Clinton should say “I am fine, and you ?”

Now you should say ‘me too’.

Afterwards we translators will do all the work for you.”
It looks quite simple, but the truth is …..

When Mori met Clinton, he mistakenly said : “Who Are You ?”.

Mr Clinton was a bit shocked but still managed to react with humor : “Well, I am Hilary’s husband, ha ha…”

Then Mori replied confidently “Me too, ha ha ha..”

Then there was a long silent moment in the meeting room
