It is spring time so when else would it be so beautiful if not now! Help me name them coz I know not nor remember their names!

The flowers in front of my sisters house.

As we reached Kings Park, we were greeted by camels!

Everybody here in Australia seems to love doing this - the weather permits it!

My nephew Suraj getting excited!

Then there were more flowers!

A bush flower which is actually a compass in the desert!

The famous kangaroo paw

And to end the day, my niece, Sara and her brother, Suraj decided to climb the DNA tower!

flora

I decided to kill two birds with one stone, thus I went down to Putrajaya on the 2nd September to catch two events, the Floria and the Fireworks.

It was pouring on that day but that did not change anything much in my plans except maybe I did not finish the whole of the Floria Fest 2007 and just saw part of it. These are the pictures I have taken to share with all. Orchids are my favourite as my dad loves it too!

This pictures of orchids are specially dedicated to my dad and my mom.

A new species called Mr Smith

And during the short excursion around the floral festive, I managed to catch some pictures of Putrajaya.

And as the hours passed, I headed towards PICC(Putrajaya International Convention Centre) where the finale for the International Fireworks 2007 was to be held. It was still raining and stopped about 30 minutes before the fireworks started.

Name the flower - Part 1!

I thought I would make this more blog a little more interactive. Lately and thanks to my new camera, I develop an interest in taking pictures of flowers and plants. However, my knowledge of botany is in its deepest pit and thus felt like they botanist or the would be enthusiast can help out!

This flower is actually a common flower, I have seen it grow in various places. However, I was somehow attracted to this as also was a tiny little fly! This was taken on a highland while I was having lunch! I posted it up in an earlier post but only one responded but I think he got it wrong and I am not sure either. The picture reference he gave me looked very different!

So any takers?
