Redang Island - The Dive - Day 1.

Hope the Coke has managed to sustain the thirst. I am new to Canon G7 and its Ikelite casing. The casing was bulky and the buttons were closely placed among itself. We managed to do 5 dives. The weather was cloudy with occasional rain and sun sometimes. The ocean was rough and the swells were strong and moderately high. There were 14 of us and if not mistaken 6 were photographers. Most of us were using these dives as a practice before the actual competition held at the same place from July 12th to 15th.

Day 1, Dive 1 & 2

This was the first time I was using the bulky Ikelite housing. Bulky but definitely sturdy! I was having a lot of problems from this new set that I took minimal pictures. In the process, I lost the flash diffuser to the ocean. Goodness, Yan who lend me his Ikelite housing would be furious.

Nudibranch

Another Nudibranch

Moray Eel - my favourite creature

Yet another nudibranch

But this made me happy, an inch long zebra shrimp on a whip coral.

Till the next post, a kiss from the yellow boxfish,

The 1st nudibranch looks like a colourful sea cucumber and the zebra shrimp like squids. hehehe…. looks yummy.

    But cannot be eaten, right?

  4. Bernard Says:

    Eh.. what’s the new camera?

  5. docperineum Says:

wow…great pictures. loved the zebra shrimp pic. nice composition. try ‘photoshop-ing’ the left hand corner to make the background total black. i think it would look nicer.

Wow, simply awesome! You should be working for national geography instead! ha! ha! Is the Canon G7 difficult to handle? Now I so tempted to get one.

How far deep did you have to dive to get to these beautiful nature?

Your diving bugs has just got into me. Just went for a dive in Pangkor. Not so great corals like your, but at least, can kill my jeleousy la. Must set aside a budget to get underwater casing too.

Hi Judy, Emma should visit Malaysia. By the way what camera does she use?

    Thanks jmb.

ECL, they are just too adorable to be eaten! Please don’t give humans ideas - they may just do so oneday!

Bernard, the new camera is a Canon G7. What you think eh?

Docperineum, hey thanks for visiting. Another diver! Yipee. Eh you take excellent shots too. Thanks for the photo editing advice.

Ilene, the G7 is a little bulky but i find it great. Most of the beautiful marine life are actually quite shallow at less than 20 metres, usually ranging around 12 to 16metres.

  11. george Says:

Mom, thanks! I did not realise that the whip coral can look so beautiful too.

HQ, ah kena poison already. But don’t la try in pangkor, where it may give you a wrong impression. But am happy you got the courage to try. So when are you getting the license? Titoki also thinking about it.
