The Bitter Bladder

Thursday, December 21st, 2006

Well the week was a hectic but an exciting one! I managed to convince my anaesthetic medical officer and the anaesthetist that laparoscopic appendicectomy has its benefit. “A small step for mankind” Anyway, I have a teaser — the picture below.

Any guesses?

Wow what a day? How was yours?

Tuesday, December 19th, 2006

Yesterday reminded me of a topic a friend of mine spoke during the PTK course - How was your day? He spoke well that I remember almost every word he said, “We almost always answer this question with “fine” without really dwelling into our day”

My Penang Trip

Sunday, December 17th, 2006

Hi I was in Penang yesterday night! Met some friends and made new friends.

Why?

Where?

The Trip or Journey?

Well, this is where the story starts! I reached KLIA at 9.00am as my Malaysia Airlines flight was at 10.45am. As I closed up to the counter I realised there was like about 50 people queue. Then, I was directed to another counter along with the rest to various counters. I was impressed but only lasted for a while. A call on the speakers meant that our flight was postponed to 12.30pm but by the time we took off, it was already 1.30pm. Sickening!

By the time we arrived at the hotel, it was already 4pm and the symposium started. It was an update and we generally would have had a better time if not for the flight delay!

They have very interesting activities there. Just a wonder, how many of you have tried any of those below:

So are you bloggers going anywhere for the holidays?

So what about the public?

Friday, December 15th, 2006

Hey! This is nonsense! Utter rubbish!

Read the news : Toll Hike

So, does this appear to be politically correct! The government refuses to increase our pay but increases our expenses - yes expenses as from January 1st not only toll prices will go up but every other businessman will increase the price of their goods! Or is this a political play around to announce something, see the public reaction which is bloody obvious and then play a bargain of 50% discount( which is 30% increase rather than the 60%) to show that the government still cares! Dirty politics - either way they win — if public keeps quiet they get 60% increase and businessman and politicians will all be happy! and if public does make an outcry- they still get the 30% increase and make 2/3 of the naturally contended public happy to vote for them!

Share the burden - is what Najib said — goodness we dont have too do so if we get rid of so many middle man-cronies who increases the prices exhorbitantly just for profit! An initial price of a brick which cost RM5 for example would cost RM25 at the site of construction - no I am wrong - maybe higher!
