As I was blog-surfing, I came across the title above and the picture below which caught my attention. The article, I felt was excellent and heartfelt written with passion by a nurse, and I had to share Dying to be Beautiful with all bloggers.

Poor girl! She so wanted to be beautiful like many women but took it to the extreme. Partly to blame is society who put pencil stick models on runways and proclaim that’s the kind of beauty the world perceives. How do we tell people that beauty comes from within…very difficult!

Most of all I take my hat off to a wonderful nurse like her. So committed yet passionate about her work and patients! Can we see many nurses like her?

True. But the problem with anorexia is that they have a wrong perception of how their body is and even when they realise it later they have lost control of themselves.

The nurse needs to be commended. There are but a sad unappreciated few.

I got my daughter to read an autobiography of a recovered Australian anonexric teenager recently, just to be on the safe side
